World Cancer Day 2026 carries the theme "United by Unique," emphasizing that every patient has a different story, unique needs, and a distinct experience in facing cancer.

In Gaza, every cancer patient has their own story, yet they all share harsh challenges, including shortages of essential medications, disruptions to healthcare services, and difficulties accessing timely diagnosis and specialized treatment.

A cancer patient does not face the disease alone; they also confront daily challenges related to the continuity of treatment, the availability of healthcare services, and difficult humanitarian conditions that directly affect their treatment journey and chances of recovery.

At Salamtek Association, we believe that patient-centered care is a fundamental right for every individual. We work to support cancer patients by facilitating access to healthcare services and providing humanitarian assistance and supportive care that promote dignity and resilience.

On this day, we renew our call to ensure that cancer patients can access treatment and healthcare services without interruption. Access to treatment is not a privilege—it is a fundamental human right.
