The Fourth Session of Salamtak’s Weekly Psychological Support and Awareness Program

Continuing Psychological Support Sessions for Women with Cancer in Gaza

Salamtak Association continues to implement its weekly psychological support and awareness program for women with cancer. The fourth session was held at the Salamtak Center in Gaza City, with the participation of a number of women with cancer and their companions.

The session focused on several important psychological topics aimed at helping participants better understand their emotions and emotional responses, and develop greater awareness of how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected.

Key topics included:

Recognizing emotions and understanding emotional responses.

Understanding the relationship between situations, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Identifying automatic thoughts and their impact on psychological well-being.

Examining thoughts and reframing them in a more realistic and balanced way.

The session used a range of interactive approaches, including group discussions, dialogue, brainstorming, real-life examples, and practical exercises. These activities provided participants with a safe space to express their feelings, reflect on their thoughts, and share their personal experiences.

The session witnessed active participation, with some participants identifying the connection between their patterns of thinking and the emotions they experience, while exploring more balanced alternative thoughts. This contributed to strengthening their sense of calm and their ability to respond to stressful situations with greater awareness.

This session is part of a weekly psychological support and awareness program implemented by Salamtak Association. The program aims to strengthen coping skills, support emotional regulation, and help women with cancer navigate the psychological and social challenges associated with illness and treatment.

Through the continuation of this program, Salamtak remains committed to providing safe and supportive spaces for women with cancer and promoting a holistic approach to care that addresses their psychological and social well-being alongside their health needs.

Salamtak… Because care goes beyond treatment to embrace the person, their emotions, and their dignity.
